Alberta Summer Provincial Champs 2026

August 5, 2026

Another season is winding down as UCSC wrapped up the year at the Alberta Summer Provincial Championships here in Calgary this past weekend. In a fitting culmination of months of dedication and hard work, UCSC was crowned the overall team winner, bringing home the championship banner!

Throughout the weekend, our swimmers delivered outstanding performances. There were many personal bests swims, UCSC swimmers filled the finals, and reached the podium time and time again. What made this weekend especially meaningful was seeing contributions from every corner of our program, with swimmers across all age groups playing a role in the team's success. On deck, the team cohesion, support, and positive energy exemplified what it means to be a Dino. There were pre-race "TREXs" and loud cheering for all four days, and even team-coloured pom-poms waiving all night long during the final’s sessions.

As the swimmers look back on their season, they should feel proud of their effort and commitment they’ve put forth all season long.

While most of our athletes now begin a summer break, a select group will continue training as they prepare to represent Canada on the international stage. Best of luck to Laon Kim and Alexanne Lepage, who will compete at the Pan Pacific Championships from August 12–15 in Irvine, California, and to Callie Cardiff, Ranumi Eashwarage, and Kinnon Sen, who will be swimming at the Junior Pan Pacific Championships from August 17-20 at UBC in Vancouver.

A massive thank you to all the officials and volunteers who helped make this meet such a success. Finally, to our parents – thank you for your unwavering support of your athletes and our club throughout the season. Your time, encouragement, and commitment make all of this possible.

We hope all our swimmers enjoy a well-deserved break, spend plenty of time outdoors, and return refreshed for another exciting season. We can't wait to see everyone back on the pool deck in September.

GO DINOS!
