Dinos @ AB Summer Festivals

The Swim Alberta Summer Festival in Lethbridge June 13-15 was another success for the 12 & under qualifiers from 12 stream, TREX and Development groups. It was a big meet, efficiently run, with the pomp and circumstance of a Provincial event.

The youngest Dinos in the 9 & under age category swimming in finals (for the first time!) had us on our feet cheering! 

TREX swimmers, some in their first Provincial meet and some with experience at prelim/final competitions all stepped up and gave it their all. As (almost) always, there were some brilliant best times, some tough performances and some disappointing dqs and swims that didn't meet expectations. TREX swimmers kept on rising to the occasion!  

Our oldest and most seasoned 12 stream swimmers were going after personal bests and well-swum races, role modeling great behaviour at a meet, showing great camaraderie and Dino Pride.  

The whole spectrum of UCSC competitors handled themselves with maturity, good preparation before events, brave racing and communication with coaches; all with the support of the dedicated grownups that brought them there. Thanks to those parents, grandparents, relatives and friends, to the meet organizers, and coaches for giving these swimmers a grand chance to shine.
