Jack Frost Recap

November 8, 2023

UCSC's first time at the annual Jack Frost Invitational was filled with new races, lots of best times, and a ton of fun. The sessions were long at times, but all the swimmers persevered, sticking together and supporting one another when fatigue began to set in which resulted in a ton of great swims and smiling faces. With many of our swimmers being a bit older than many of the other swimmers at the meet, it was a great opportunity for us to be role models, and be athletes that the younger development swimmers could look up to; shoes that our swimmers filled amazingly.

One highlight of the meet was the club relays, where our Provincial and Provincial Lite groups combined to tear up the pool Friday night and Sunday morning. Another exciting opportunity at this meet was the 50 freestyle eliminator, where 11 of UCSC's swimmers competed in 6 back-to-back 50 freestyles to try and be the last one standing in the competition.

This meet provided a great opportunity for all of our swimmers to try some new events, as well as try out & modify race plans which will help greatly going into some fast racing coming in December.
