UCSC Grand Prix Write Up

The excitement of our annual UCSC Grand Prix meet did not disappoint! The meet featured over 250 of
our own swimmers, who were able to showcase their speed in our home pool.

The meet was a steppingstone in the preparation process as we head into a busy February and March of
racing. Just because it wasn’t a peak meet though, didn’t mean there weren’t some phenomenal swims.
There were tons of personal bests and many new qualifiers, from the TREX groups, all the way up to the
National squad. There were also some breakthrough swims and new race plans tested. There’s
something positive to takeaway from every swim, and that’s what this meet was all about. Now to apply
what was learned in the races in practices, to better prepare for the next meet! UCSC swimmers have
set themselves up for an amazing competition phase through February and March.

What a great weekend! Thank you to all our officials and volunteers, and congrats to all swimmers once
again!
