Western TransMountain Festival - Meet Write Up
What could have almost been considered an ‘out of town’ competition the Western Transmountain Festival was a great success out at Seton YMCA. The facility is absolutely fabulous for racing, despite challenges without a proper warm up/cool down pool. UCSC swimmers really shined throughout the 4 sessions with many ‘first time swims’ as well as huge steps forward from the previous meet (Grand Prix).
This cycle holds some great racing ‘progressions’ for our athletes moving from Grand Prix to Western Transmountain Festival and now onward to Alberta Provincials and Championships. I was extremely proud of how our team looked in team gear, supported one another in cheering and prepared for their efforts. These in-season competitions are key for developing the habits and ‘systems’ for creating peak performances at the championship meets.
