Sunday Clinic – Starts and Turns

April 7: 830am – 1030pm  
Location: UofC Aquatic Centre

The next clinic will focus on the starts and turns of all strokes. For the turns, the main focus will be on what happens on the wall and how to make it more efficient and faster, followed by a strong push-off, with an appropriate gliding phase, dolphin kicking, and breakout or breaststroke underwater pull-out. The start exercises will emphasize a strong push-off followed by smooth entry (eliminate splashing) and the transition to swimming.  We will do backstroke starts using the ledges to get swimmers used to pushing off when the ledge is in place.

o   830am – Development squads – CH2, CH3, SD2, SD3, TREX C

o   930m– TTREX A/B, 12 stream, 13+ groups

·      Cost per clinic - $90

·      Number of swimmers – maximum 16/session
