Sunday Clinic – Butterfly and breaststroke
Location: UofC Aquatic Centre
May 19: 9am – 11am
The focus of the session will be on butterfly and breaststroke. On butterfly, the focus will be on body undulation, an essential butterfly skill, arm recovery, and breathing. The focus for the more advanced swimmers will be similar, adding a few guidelines about how to swim “effortless” fly, and the importance of rhythm when swimming butterfly.
On breaststroke the emphasis will be on phases that create potential resistance, such as kick recovery and arm pull, as well as on propulsion of kicking and pulling, and the importance of gliding.
A portion of the session will be spent on breaststroke and butterfly turns.
