TREX Head Coach

Amy Bidrman

Amy Bidrman is the TREX Stream Head Coach.

Since taking the lead for TREX in 2020, Amy has consistently fostered a fun, collaborative, and engaging environment by inspiring positive habits and a love of sport in our young athletes.

Amy’s time spent in the pool and on the deck has accumulated over forty years of experience. Her passion for sport started in Nebraska as a high school state champion and record holder in both swimming and cross-country. She continued her swimming career at the University of California Berkeley, serving as team captain and later as a graduate assistant coach. After graduating, Amy returned to Nebraska where she coached with the masters and varsity programs.

In 1997, Amy and her family came to Calgary. She has since been an active and influential part of the Calgary Swimming community – coaching camps, lessons, and groups of all abilities. As a parent of two former UCSC swimmers, Amy gained a valuable perspective of the swimming world from the stands.

Amy’s diverse experiences extend beyond swimming. She is an E-RYT500 yoga teacher and teacher trainer. She holds an AMI Montessori Diploma, a bachelor’s degree in English from UC Berkeley, and a master’s in education from Loyola University Baltimore. This wide range of expertise has deeply shaped Amy’s approach to coaching.
