Provincial Lite Coach
Kenton Williams
Kenton Williams is UCSC's Provincial Lite Head Coach.
A Calgary native, Kenton is a lifelong Dino. He began swimming with the club at age seven and progressed through the program to finish his swimming career with the University of Calgary varsity team from 2017–2019. Kenton competed at the 2017 Canadian World Trials, and racing nationally in all four strokes fostered a deep appreciation for developing every stroke, even when the focus is on improving just one.
On the deck, Kenton has worked with nearly every group in the 12 & over streams while also contributing to the club’s strength training program. This variety has given him the skills to support swimmers of all ages and abilities.
Kenton is a recent graduate of Mount Royal University’s Physical Literacy program. He is CSEP-CPT certified and NCCP Level 2 trained.
With a special interest in power and race preparation, Kenton emphasizes building athletes as people first, providing them with the tools to succeed both in and out of the pool. Having progressed through UCSC’s full program himself, he understands the balance athletes must maintain between training and other responsibilities, and strives to create an environment where swimmers look forward to every workout.
