Provincial Coach

Lauren Sirakowski

Lauren Sirakowski is UCSC's Provincial Coach. 

Lauren’s connection to UCSC began as an athlete, joining the Club at age 6 in CH1 and swimming through her mid-teen years. During that time, she competed at the Alberta Summer Games in both 2006 and 2008 and was a UCSC Dino Spirit Award winner in 2006.

Lauren returned to UCSC as a coach in 2010, spending eight seasons working within the Development Program alongside Lorna Snow. After stepping away from the Club in 2018 to pursue a full-time career, she continued coaching with the Calgary Swordfish Summer Swim Club. There, Lauren helped build the club’s foundational program and progressed from Age Group Coach to Assistant Head Coach before becoming Head Coach in 2023. She has also spent seven seasons coaching with the Calgary Patriots.

An NCCP Level 1 certified coach, Lauren puts culture at the centre of her coaching approach and believes strong performances follow when athletes feel safe, supported, and confident in their environment. She is especially motivated by the moments when young athletes realize they are capable of something they previously didn’t believe they could do.

Lauren studied Communications at the University of Calgary, where she also competed in novice artistic swimming and water polo. Away from the pool, she has been recognized with multiple community leadership awards for her volunteer work and served as President of Make-A-Wish UCalgary during her final year at the University.
