Dinos at NCSA Spring Invitational

March 20, 2024

On March 16-17, there were a large number of swimmers from various swimming clubs at the NCSA Spring Invitational. Dino had a smaller group of young swimmers who participated in the event, but they strove to compete and won 13 medals. This was a great opportunity for our younger swimmers to learn about racing in the prelim and final sessions including understanding alternative places in the finals. Congratulations to all of the Dinos for their progress!!! Check out what the coaches had to say...

A small squad of TREX swimmers attended the NCSA meet March 16 & 17th and had the great opportunity to learn about the prelim/final program (how to qualify and the protocol when you are an alternate). Many posted new best times, TREX gained one more Festival qualifier at the meet, some created some new strategies about how to approach races, and for those swimmers who qualified and attended the finals sessions, they learned how to return in the afternoon, reset, warm up and prepare to race again.

Every competition is an opportunity to improve our understanding of ourselves. Swimmers are continuously learning how their bodies and their thoughts respond when they are excited, feeling trepidation about racing, feeling happy about a performance or disappointed.  Thanks to all the parents and grownups who support the swimmers in their development!!

A small group of 12A and 12B swimmers raced great at the NCSA meet. For everyone, it was a great opportunity to swim fast in the morning and improve on placings and time in the final. For all the swimmers, it was the last meet in a short course for the season and the best times from the meet will not be broken for a while. Congratulations to all the medal winners and everyone for a great effort at the meet. Go Dinos!

12C performed well in the competition, winning several medals and achieving personal best times, despite the challenging stroke events. They learned to manage their mental preparedness and performed in events they had not before, achieving the best times for numerous events. This is what made this competition meaningful.

I am so proud of the swimmers for their growth and progression.
